The concept of forced adoption is not acceptable today. However, when it occurred back in the early '60's, it was acceptable as a satisfactory solution to an occurrence that happened with considerable frequency.
I was involved in such an occurrence.
After what was regarded as "spontaneous lovemaking" during a "sporting Easter", my "casual partner" came to me - months later - with the news that she was pregnant. Having been raised by a discerning mother, I offered two options - 1. Get married at once or 2. Pay for an abortion. Neither was acceptable and my 'friend' disappeared. I was unable to make contact, but I learned that she had moved interstate.
