An Indigenous woman, Diane Carpenter, has told the royal commission into
child sexual abuse she was sexually abused by Father Michael Hayes
while she lived at St Joseph's Orphanage Neerkol in the 1950s and 60s.
Mrs Carpenter gave evidence all the children were treated badly by the
nuns who ran the orphanage but the Aboriginal children had a
particularly hard time.
